MapleStory Private Servers
MapleStory is a 2D side-scrolling MMORPG developed by Wizet and published by Nexon, launched in Korea in 2003 and globally in 2005. A MapleStory private server is an independent project running on a server emulator: it recreates the game on a chosen client version, with its own experience, drop and meso rates.
The key fork is the era. Versions before the Big Bang update (2010) are called Pre-Big Bang: classic v62 and v83 are loved for unhurried grind, Party Quests and the Kerning City PQ. Post-Big Bang and modern builds add new classes, the 5th Job and the Arcane River region. The BestGames catalogue gathers MapleStory projects with filters by version and server type — compare the terms and pick the right one.
How to choose a server: decide on the era you want (v62/v83 for nostalgia, or a modern build for the current meta), match rates to your time budget, review the cash shop and NX policy (cosmetics versus impact on progression), and judge community health by the project's Discord. Common spellings include "pserver", "p server" and, in the German segment, "privat server".
